i am cheating. i didn’t take these photos this month or last month. they were taken two months ago. i have wanted to gather them up and show them for some time. so, i am doing it now. and since i am in the cheating mood, i am not stopping at ten. these photos were taken one morning in early august. the baby had just finished eating breakfast and gotten more of it on her than in her. so in the bath she went. for some reason the sound of running bath water is like Pavlov’s bell to you two. i normally let you all in together but she was so content to bathe alone this day that i made you two wait until she was done. this made you both icky so you started picking at each other. i knew exactly how to calm you. i started telling stories. sometimes i operate on autopilot telling you stories while i take your pictures. it is as if time stands still and you are frozen hanging on to every word. and i am under the spell too lost in the moment with you.
